SKATING PROGRAMS

Tofield Skating Club offers fun, safe, and high quality programming for our members

Our Programs are structured according to Skate Canada national standards and Coached by a Certified NCCP and Skate Canada Professional Coach.  All Skaters will have the opportunity to participate in our Annual Christmas Show and Year End Carnival.

 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                         
 
ALL CANSKATE PROGRAMS
 

All Skaters must wear a CSA APPROVED HOCKEY HELMET.  No exceptions

PRE-CANSKATE

Pre-CanSkate is a learn-to-skate program that focuses on teaching skaters their basic skating skills, in a fun environment. This class is an introduction to skating through games, circuits, group activities, action songs, and creative expression.

**Skaters must be 3 years old by August 1, 2025.

WEDNESDAYS 4:30-5:00

SUNDAYS 5:15-5:45

CANSKATE

CanSkate is a Skate Canada learn-to-skate program. Skaters earn badges/ribbons while they focus on 3 fundamental areas organized in 6 stages of learning. Agility, Balance and Control. Music, warm-up exercises, group lessons, challenge zone, fast track, and cool down periods provide an exciting and fun program. This program focuses on skills for all ice sports.  It's a great program to sign up your future hockey player, ringette player, speed skater, or figure skater for.

**Must be 5 years old by August 1, 2025 or have passed the Pre-Canskate Program.

WEDNESDAYS 4:30-5:15

SUNDAYS 5:15-6:00

ADVANCED CANSKATE (INVITED AT DISCRETION OF COACH)

Advanced CanSkate Program is a bridge program designed for skaters that would like to move into Figure Skating. This allows those skaters wanting to continue working on their CanSkate Badges in a more challenging environment, focusing on figure skating basics in a group lesson environment.  Skaters will have practice time as well, to develop their skills. Skaters will move into this program upon approval of the Head Coach.

Skaters will have group lesson time and Practice time

Skaters must wear helmet until approved by The Head Coach

WEDNESDAYS 5:45-7:00

SUNDAYS 3:45 -5:00  OFF ICE TRAINING 2:30-3:15

JR STARSKATE (INVITED AT DISCRETION OF COACH)

An introduction to figure skating. Skaters will master the basics and foundations to the sport, with opportunities for fun meets.. Skaters will skate twice a week and have over an hour of ice time twice a week and off ice training.

Skaters will have group lesson time, individual time with the Coach, and Practice time

Skaters must wear helmet until approved by The Head Coach

WEDNESDAYS 5:15-7:00

SUNDAYS 3:45 -5:00  OFF ICE TRAINING 2:30-3:15

STARSKATE

This program has been developed to focus on all disciplines of figure skating with Skate Canada Assessments and an option to attend Fun Meet Competitions... this includes freeskate, dance, skills, synchro, and artistic. This program also offers off-ice training, and year end Show to further enhance a skater's development and experience.

Skaters will have group lesson time, individual time with the Coach, and Practice time
